About the Research Demonstration Project in Mental Health and Homelessness:

The Research Demonstration Project in Mental Health and Homelessness is a 4-year, 5-city initiative, funded through an agreement between Health Canada and the Mental Health Commission of Canada. The Project will generate policy-relevant evidence about interventions to improve housing stability and health among individuals who are homeless and mentally ill.

The five participating cities are:Toronto, Moncton, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.

The Toronto site proposal is being developed, and will be implemented, by a consortium of researchers, government agencies, providers, and persons with lived experience of mental illness and homelessness. The co-lead applicants are the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael's Hospital (research lead) and the Shelter, Support and Housing Administration Division of the City of Toronto (service administration lead).
